Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need a professional hair and makeup artist?
Great question! Professional artists can offer you years of training and experience to ensure that your vision becomes a reality. Most importantly they have all the right products and tools to make sure everything works correctly with high definition photography and lasts throughout a long day.
Why do I need a preview and consultation appointment?
The preview and consultation appointment is where we will work together to decide what hair and makeup look will work best for your big day. We will discuss what will enhance your natural features best and compliment the theme of your wedding; down to the finer details like jewellery and your wedding's colour palette. Then we will trial the final look to make sure you are 100% confident and feel absolutely beautiful.
When should I book my preview and consultation appointment and what’s involved?
I recommend booking your preview and consultation appointment 6-8 weeks before your wedding. This appointment is usually 1.5-3 hours depending on what services you are booking in for. We will discuss and test your desired hair/makeup looks within the allotted time.
Will you come to me?
I am a fully mobile artist so I can also come to you.
Do you charge a travel fee?
I don’t charge for travel for locations within central London (zone 1+2). If you are unsure if your wedding location will incur an additional travel cost, please get in touch with me directly through my contact page.
Do you require a deposit?
All bridal bookings are secured with a £80 booking fee. Contact Madeleine for full terms and conditions.
What products do you use?
As a professional artist, I use high definition quality makeup and salon quality hair products. In my kit you will see a variety of brands including makeup from: Make Up For Ever, NARS, Viseart Paris, Giorgio Armani, M.A.C., and Ben Nye; skincare from La Roche Posay, Bioderma, Kiehls and Embryolisse; and Sebastian and Evo hair styling products.
All of my tools and products are hygienically used and professionally sanitised; and I am fully prepared for any skin allergies you may have.
How do I prepare for my Wedding Day?
Looking after yourself is key to a flawless finish on your wedding day. Get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water and establish a good skincare regime leading up to your big day. We can discuss your individual skin care needs in more detail at your trial.
If you plan to colour your hair for your wedding, it’s a good idea to do this before your trial so you can truly see what the final product will look like. Before I arrive for your trial or wedding day, it’s vital that you wash your hair. Make sure to rinse it well so that there is no shampoo or conditioner residue and make sure it is fully dry without any hair products.
Do I need my own makeup for touch ups?
All of my brides are given a touch up kits which includes a lipstick sample and blotting papers to keep your makeup fresh into the night. If you want to purchase your own lipstick to keep after the wedding we can discuss colours and products at your trial.
